REGARDING “SEEKING W.M.D” (ANTI-WAR MEDAL)

Fish stories are unique.  It is widely accepted that with each telling, facts of the original tale undergo embellishment.  These alterations are not only premeditated, but recognized most often as beneficial to only the teller.
Following the 9/11 attacks on America, and claims of responsibility by Taliban leader, Osama Bin Laden, the U.S. government declared war on Saddam Hussein, heinous leader of Iraq.  Many Americans were dumbfounded.  Why attack Iraq, when responsibility for 9/11 had been claimed by Osama Bin Laden?  Justification came with the statement, “…we believe there exist weapons of mass destruction…”

Since 2001, massive and repeated efforts have been under taken in order to locate WMDs.  These efforts have been not only comprehensive, but costly as well.  Yet while each effort has failed, the U.S. government persists in claiming the existence of WMDs.

After nearly a decade, no weapons of mass destruction have been found, countless lives and resources have been spent, aid to millions of needy citizens here at home has been diverted, and America has never been more disliked by the International community.  American citizens are experiencing a deepening distrust toward our government, and many believe that the existence of WMDs is one fish tale we could have done without.
